The Calgary Board of Education (CBE) is committed to providing students and staff with a welcoming, caring, respectful, and safe learning environment that respects diversity and fosters a sense of belonging.

To support this commitment, the CBE has developed a system-wide Administrative Regulation 6005: CBE Student Code of Conduct with input from students, parents, and CBE staff. This regulation applies to all CBE schools. Students are expected to follow these system-wide expectations, which are available on the Administrative Regulation page.

When expectations are not met, school administration will review the situation and determine appropriate next steps. The primary goal of any response is to support students in developing responsibility and accountability for their actions. Where appropriate, opportunities to reflect, repair harm, and make things right will be included as part of the process.

Student Responsibilities - Alberta Education Act

Section 31 of the Education Act (Statutes of Alberta, 2012, Chapter E-0.3, current as of December 11, 2025) outlines the responsibilities of students as partners in their education.

Our Approach to Learning and Behaviour

At Niitsitapi Learning Centre, we approach daily learning in a holistic way, supporting students to develop caring and respectful relationships with themselves, others, the learning process, and the learning environment. This approach guides how we teach, support, and respond to students as they grow in spirit, heart, body and mind.
