March 19th marks an important passage of time. As shared by Elder Saa’kokoto, soon the snow will melt, the ice will break, and the first thunder will be heard, bringing songs and ceremony to Blackfoot Territory. The season of spring is a time of new beginnings as life begins again for the plants and animals who have rested through the winter and are awakening, and for new babies who will be welcomed into the natural world. For us two legged beings, perhaps it is a time of awakening as well. The new season is an opportunity to move on from any darkness in our lives, and to embrace the light and new possibilities surrounding us.

Please note that these conferences will be student-led. Your scheduled appointment will be in a block of two families and an opportunity for your child to lead you through their learning. Please connect with your child’s teacher if you require a separate individual conference. Every purchase at a Scholastic Book Fair contributes Scholastic Dollars to the hosting school. Whether you are looking to refresh your school library, support the expansion of classroom libraries, furnish maker spaces, or purchase curriculum support, Scholastic Dollars can help to supplement school budgets to benefit all students. Family Cookbook Submissions
We're seeking recipes to create a Niitsitapi Family Cookbook. If you have a family recipe to share, please send it to Ms. Harmony at htjeffery@cbe.ab.ca along with your child's name. Students will assist in illustrating, and we aim to publish the cookbook for the end 2023/2024 school year.
