Supervision, Arrival, and Pick-Up Procedures

Morning Supervision

Student supervision begins at 8:25 a.m. The school doors open at this time. For safety reasons, students should not be dropped off before 8:25 a.m., as the doors are locked and supervision is not available prior to this time.

Afternoon Preschool Arrival

Afternoon Preschool begins at 12:15 p.m.

Parents and caregivers who are driving their child to school are asked to enter through the East main doors and wait inside the main foyer with their child until staff arrive at 12:15 p.m. to escort students to their classroom. Children must remain with their caregiver until they are received by school staff.

School Entry and Parking

School Entry
All families are asked to enter the school through the East main doors when arriving at or picking up from the school.

Parking
The only reserved parking spaces in our school parking lot are for individuals with disabilities and Elders. Families are welcome to park in any other available stall or on the street, while observing City of Calgary bylaws.

Dismissal and Pick-Up Procedures

End-of-Day Dismissal

The instructional day ends at 3:05 p.m.

  • Students taking school transportation are escorted by staff to their assigned bus.
  • Students who are picked up are escorted to the front main doors and handed directly to their parent, caregiver, or designated driver by the classroom teacher or the staff member supervising dismissal using the student pick-up binder.
  • For safety reasons, all student pick-ups must occur at the front doors. Please do not pick up students at side doors or along side sidewalks.

Early Pick-Ups

If your child needs to leave school early, please report to the main office.

  • A parent, caregiver, or designated driver must sign the student out.
  • The student’s attendance will be marked LE (Left Early).

Early pick-ups do not occur at classroom doors or dismissal areas.

Changes to End-of-Day Transportation

If your child will not be taking their assigned bus and will be picked up instead, please call the main office at least 30 minutes before the end of the instructional day. This allows staff to notify the classroom teacher and ensures each student is safely transitioned according to their dismissal plan.

Student Safety

  • Students will only be released to individuals listed on their demographic information.
  • Please notify the school of any custody or access arrangements that affect student pick-up.
  • Students will not be permitted to wait outside without supervision.

Thank you for your cooperation in helping us maintain a safe, organized, and respectful school environment.
