We are Niitsitapi
The Niitsitapi Learning Centre (NLC) serves preschool to Grade 2 students from all quadrants of Calgary. Its primary goal is to provide early intervention for First Nation, Métis, and Inuit students, emphasizing the development of a robust academic foundation within a learning environment that reflects and promotes Indigenous identity. NLC is committed to creating a culturally responsive environment that supports lifelong learning, nurturing each student's mind, heart, body, and spirit while respecting the diversity of Indigenous cultures, languages, and ways of knowing, being, doing, and learning. The aim is to prepare Indigenous students for success in both Indigenous and non-Indigenous contexts, fostering a harmonious balance in their lives. The programming at NLC focuses on a holistic, strength-based early learning approach, promoting a strong sense of Indigenous identity and academic rigour to enhance each child's long-term success in school.

- pride by focusing on academic, cultural, and individual growth

- active participation in regular ceremonial activities
