In 2015, the Orange Shirt Society was established to raise awareness about the profound inter-generational impacts of Indian Residential Schools on individuals, families, and communities. Its mission is to support reconciliation efforts and to emphasize the important message that EVERY CHILD MATTERS.
At Niitsitapi Learning Centre, we recognize the significance of residential schools as a part of our shared history. Wearing an orange shirt has become a national movement to honour the experiences of those affected, as well as to demonstrate our collective commitment to uphold the belief that Every Child Matters.
