Orange Shirt Day
Our school community will recognize Orange Shirt Day on Thursday, September 28. Students have been working with their teachers this past week to create an art installation using orange shirts and Connecting to Spirit (spirit, heart, body, and mind). We will start the day with the raising of the tipi, storytelling in the tip, and then finish the day with a round dance.  Each student will be given an orange shirt.

Calgary Police Youth Foundation Blue Bags
The Calgary Police Youth Foundation gifted each student a blue bag with family essentials and grocery gift cards.  Any student who has not yet received their blue bag will receive it when they return to school. Families may also pick it up during school hours.

MRU Nurses
We extend a warm welcome to our guest practicum nurses, Ms. Wendy, Mr. Daniel, and Mr. Peter. They will be joining our kindergarten classes on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays until October 18.

Inii’s Insights | Fall Equinox
The fall equinox, September 23, marked the first day of autumn. On this day, na'toosi (Grandfather Sun in Blackfoot) and kokomikisomm (Grandmother Moon) share the sky; there is balance between day and night. The equinox brings a season of change. When we look to our non-human relations, they tell us it is a time to turn inward, to let things go that no longer serve us, and to prepare for a time of greater darkness and scarcity.
